Just like the hit song from the 1960s, this sweet-looking roadster is called “Mellow Yellow.” Built-up with an open-ended budget, this 1934 Ford Model A Roadster is all-steel, fully streetable and features a 6-71 blown Chrysler HEMI V8 engine boasting approximately 600 hp.
The roadster features hydraulic roller cam and lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, MSD, dual Holley carburetors, ceramic-coated headers, custom aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. This rod runs at 180 degrees all day long.
The car truly is a new high-end build, with it’s Turbo 400 3-speed transmission, Pete & Jake drop and drilled front axle, disc brakes, Winters quick-change rear end, everything polished and chromed, ET front wheels and Halibrand-style rear wheels and Hoosier tires, color matched gauges, and ratchet shifter.
The Mellow Yellow is a show-winning, concours-quality build with a $165,000 build cost. This car runs, drives, stops and starts like a real hot rod should. Only 760 miles driven on it since it was completed. Mellow Yellow will go to auction at Barrett-Jackson in Reno Tahoe, NV on August 6-8, 2015.
