This year’s Geneva Motor Show promises to be something of a spectacle for the supercar community. Though there are always an abundance of performance unveilings, this year seems to be of particular interest, and the list is indeed quite long. Aston-Martin has added their name to the long list of brands making an unveiling, and what they’re bringing is captivating many.
Called the ‘Vulcan,’ it’s not clear exactly what the car is, or even what’s powering it. However, Aston has released the above video clip, and it not only includes footage of the car, but it also previews its performance, as we can hear a nice engine roaring in the background.
Many are speculating that the Vulcan is the replacement for the aging Vantage. This would be an astute guess, considering the car seems to have a similar profile. The massive rear wing depicted in the above teaser video also seems to hint that the Vulcan will be given a GT3 or WEC GTE treatment for a racing version of the car.
Also of note, many in the community are speculating that the car will sport AMG power. Owing to a burgeoning partnership with Mercedes and the rising costs of engine development, it would make sense for Aston to take this course of action. Perhaps and AMG V12, or even the 4.0 liter V8 that is the hallmark of the new AMG GT, could replace the time-tested Aston-Martin 6.0 liter V12 for the new supercar.
Whatever it is that’s powering the Vulcan, we’re definitely anticipating it’s arrival. The Vulcan will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
