The ‘Elegance Deserves Company: Guinness Advertising Art Exhibit’ has recently been revealed and is being showcased in the Auto Art Gallery at America On Wheels Museum. Accessibility to this revelation of rare, exquisite artwork is included in all museum admissions.
For over eight decades the Guinness Company has been a leader in brand-building as it has mastered a mindset that has fashioned some of the most iconic and recognizable advertising campaigns in history. The artwork displayed are unique paintings done for some of the most memorable and pioneering advertising crusades, showcasing the innovative ‘new look’ designs from the post war British automotive industry. Strongly relying on humor, the Guinness ads became British institutions. It was a bold, fresh attitude portrayed in Guinness ads that achieved instant connection to the viewers.
This outstanding exhibit is courtesy of the Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf collection – Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Special recognition to Mark Wallison for installation and supervision of all art framing. Books showcasing the Guinness Ads are available for sale in the Museum Store.
“We believe exhibiting artwork of various designers and artists is an additional aspect of the automotive industry we are proud to explore. The current paintings and drawings show the imagination, creativity and technicality of these brilliant artists,” said AOW Executive Director, Linda Merkel.
