If you could have a former Indianapolis 500 winner help your automotive parts brand in consumer advocacy, would you? Chances are pretty good that you would. That’s exactly what Enerpulse Technologies Inc. has done as the company recently announced that racing legend Al Unser Jr. has joined Enerpulse as its Pulstar Pulse Plugs Performance Expert.
Unser Jr., a two-time winner of the prestigious Indianapolis 500, will be a consumer advocate; assisting Enerpulse in delivering automotive enthusiasts improved vehicle power and performance.
“When I initially tried the Pulstar plugs in my 2011 Chevy Suburban LTZ I noticed an increase of two miles per gallon (MPG) and dyno testing showed that I had picked up 5 horsepower,” explained Unser Jr. “I could really feel the power, all just by changing my spark plugs.”
Unlike conventional spark plugs, Pulstar Pulse Plugs use an integrated capacitor that stores and compresses electrical energy to intensify the spark. This process increases fuel economy and engine performance.
Besides his two Indianapolis 500 victories, Unser Jr. is a two-time IndyCar Series champion and has 34 IndyCar wins. He was the winner of both the Indy 500 and the Series championship in 1994. Unser Jr. was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2009.
“I am extremely excited by this partnership,” said Unser Jr. “I am not a physicist, but I do know a thing or two about getting the most power from your engine.”
