With a price-tag starting at $112,000, the Range Rover Sport SVR is one of the more expensive SUVs on the market today. But almost more awe-inspiring than the car’s luxury character and prestige, is its performance
Mike Cross, Land Rover’s chief engineer for vehicle integrity, gets behind the wheel of the Range Rover Sport and explains some of the technology and method behind successfully piloting the car. The traction and stability control systems are switched off as Cross, seemingly gracefully, glides around the track.
The Range Rover Sport SVR relies on a 5.0 liter supercharged V8, coupled to an eight speed automatic transmission. The 5.0 produces 550 horsepower and produces 502 ft. lb.s of torque, propelling the car from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
