It’s not uncommon to see a car pitted against a motorcycle every now and then, but here is something we haven’t seen before- a snowmobile going up against a Tesla. Somewhere on a remote stretch of flat land in Norway, a Tesla Model S P85D faced off against a Lynx Boondocker.
The Tesla features 691 horsepower, delivered to a brand-new all wheel drive configuration that is the hallmark of the P85D variant of the Model S. The Tesla achieves this through the use of two electric motors, each driving one set of wheels.
The Lynx brings an 800cc Rotax two-stroke which puts out an impressive 160 horsepower and ostensibly a monstrous torque figure. Though the Tesla has an almost instant delivery of torque to its AWD setup, the car is visibly threatened by the snowmobile’s lighter profile and almost seven sq. ft. of sled contact.
Of course, even more intriguing than the match-up is the outcome. Notwithstanding the results, this is 32 seconds of pure automotive bliss.
