Winvian Farm, the AAA Five-Diamond sanctuary in the Litchfield Hills, has officially declared 2018 the Year of the Woman and to assist ladies in building self-confidence, self-awareness, self-esteem and courage, the property will launch the Women at the Wheel program beginning April 21, a first-of-its-kind program at any U.S. resort.

Women at the Wheel will showcase a partnership between Winvian Farm and nearby Lime Rock Park, one of the top-ranked race tracks in America. The two-day retreat will feature a private, half-day race car driving lesson with one of Lime Rock’s top instructors, most of whom have coached some of the world’s champion race car drivers.

The program was created to help women step out of their safety zones, let go of fear and to utilize learning the art of race car driving as a way to enhance their ability to take full control of their personal and professional lives.

“Our mission for this program with Lime Rock Park is to present women with the opportunity to learn to empower their lives through learning one of the most challenging sports in the world. Truly one of control, engaging in this sport will help lead to self-empowerment and determination in other aspects of life and helping to create a more equal world for women,” says Heather Smith, Managing Director of Winvian Farm.

After an exhilarating and life-changing day on the race track, women will enjoy all of the luxurious amenities at this AAA Five-Diamond, Relais & Chateaux establishment. Guests may select pampering body and facial treatments at the 5,000 square-foot spa, feast on farm-to-fork fare in the award-winning restaurant showcasing menu items fresh from the onsite farm, and relish quiet time poolside or hiking through the neighboring White Memorial Conservation Center.

Included in the two-day retreat are accommodations in one of Winvian Farm’s 19 accommodations (18 of which are private cottages), one three-course dinner for two, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, and one half-day, private racing lesson at Lime Rock Park.  Rates are from $4440.00.

“Lime Rock Park is thrilled to partner with Winvian Farm and their women’s empowerment initiative in order to offer unique race car driver training opportunities to their guests. We encourage women at any experience level to participate in these exhilarating, high-speed driving programs taught by some of the world’s most experienced professional race car driver coaches,” said Marlane White, Public Relations and Communications Manager at Lime Rock Park.
